We live in a world shaped by an increasingly complex economic system. As a consequence, it has become more and more important for people to know what is going on around them. However, finding and processing the relevant information to do this has become more difficult as well, due to the increased complexity and information overload. In reaction to this, we have published a series of infographics that illustrate the most important facts and figures about the economies of various countries all over the world.
The following infographic shows the Dutch economy at a glance. It is the sixth-largest economy in the European Union and plays an important role as a European transportation hub. Furthermore, Holland is the world's fifth largest exporter. The country owes 70 percent of its gross national product to export. The highly mechanized agricultural sector in the Netherlands employs only 2% of the labor force but provides large surpluses for food-processing and underpins the country’s status as the world’s second largest agricultural exporter.
